Why is it that the model number and serial number of the appliance or appliances are important?

The explanations are as follows.

1. The manufacturer will need this information when you are claiming a warranty for your appliance. Some appliances may be covered with a limited warranty of up to 10 years. Check your entitlement when claiming the warranty of your appliance.
2. You can also check the model number and serial number for any reworks or recalls issued by the manufacturer. Most of the time, the manufacturer will communicate with the owner of the appliance if it has been affected by any type of rework or recall. Make sure to register your appliance after purchasing.
3. The model number and serial number tag sometimes come with extra information, such as the year it was manufactured, current consumption, type of gas used with the refrigerator, the manufacturer’s contact support information, and much more.
4. If your appliance does not have a model and serial number tag, or if it is missing, it may cause issues if something goes wrong with your appliance and requires service. The manufacturer may refuse to service your appliance, the warranty may be void, and the technician may have difficulty verifying the version or finding the correct parts. Although sometimes the part number can be obtained with the part number itself or by comparing the actual parts, it’s essential to keep the identification sticker on your appliance.
